GILLETTE - The Wyoming Highway Patrol says troopers seized more than $72,000 in cash during a traffic stop on Interstate 90 in Campbell County.
The driver was arrested. Patrol officials say they aren't sure who he is, but they suspect that the money was part of some sort of illegal activity.
The trooper stopped the 2001 Ford Excursion with Illinois registration plates Monday afternoon. Patrol officials say the driver provided a homemade driver's license and said it was a license from Mexico.
A drug-sniffing dog led troopers to a speaker box in the Excursion. The money was found inside the box. The man was charged with interfering with a law enforcement officer and failing to provide a driver's license and proof of insurance.
