| Varies alot depending on the time of year and day or night shift.
In the summer during the day we get tied up on alot of SAR calls in the Sierras, one SAR can tie us up for days.
Night shift year round is pretty busy with law enforcement type calls. We prettymuch go from call to call working with our guys as well as allied agencies.
We only do about 120 to 150 patient transports a year, a majority are from May to Sept as we get bad fog in the summer months. Where I work there is a private air ambulance, but we handle all rescue calls and EMS calls when thier not avail.

We usually fly 2-4 hours a shift, and on a busy night we will go call to call (law enforcement type calls). Slow nights, we can fly around for quite awhile with nothing going on.

Do you fly the same type as the dolphin Medicvac helicopters we have here in Maryland? I wish. We fly a AS-350 "A-Star", the B-3 model. It's smaller than the dauphin helicopters you guys have over there, and cost about half as much. Our mission is a little different that the MSP helicopters. We do more law enforcement and patrol, and less EMS. We work 8 hour shifts, and are in the air almost half the shift doing police type calls (burgs, robberies, pursuits, stuff like that).
