CONNERSVILLE — Indiana State Police found a second rolling methamphetamine lab this week during a traffic stop near the Connersville ISP post.
ISP trooper Barry Bischoff was on traffic patrol when he observed a driver on Ind. 1 south of the post that he knew had a suspended license.
After stopping the vehicle, the driver, Tony A. Thomas, 37, Rushville, was found to be a habitual traffic offender with a lifetime license suspension. A search of the vehicle also found several chemicals used in the manufacturing of meth which were removed by an ISP lab team.
Thomas was held in the Fayette County Jail, preliminarily charged with felony dealing methamphetamine, and possession of meth precursors besides maintaining a common nuisance and operating as a habitual traffic offender.
Bischoff said Thomas’s arrest was the second rolling lab police found in recent weeks and he encouraged anyone with information about meth labs to call a state hotline 1-800-453-4756
