60th Highway Patrol Academy
The 60th OHP Academey is scheduled to begin February 26, 2010.
Applications are being accepted for the 60th Academy; the last day for applications will be June 15, 2009.
Applicants will be notified by mail of their specific test date.
Applicants must fill out the Biographical Questionnaire and bring it with them on their test date in order for the Highway Patrol to complete background investigations.
You will need the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader
which is available at no charge from Adobe's website.
Initial testing will consist of physical agility, written test, and oral interview.
Drug testing information for applicants:
The Department of Public Safety Drug Policy will apply to all applicants and will be strictly enforced.

Qualifications
Age (by start date of Academy)
at least 21 years of age, but not yet 43 years of age
Education
An associate degree, or a minimum of 62 successfully completed semester hours, from an accredited college or university.
Military and/or Law Enforcement experience DOES NOT substitute for the required hours and/or degree.
Residency
Citizen of the United States of America
Disqualifications
- Have been convicted two or more times for DUI, DWI, or DUID.
- Have been convicted of one DUI, DWI, or DUID within the past ten years.
- Have been charged with a DUI, DWI, or DUID within the past five years.
- Have had driving privileges legitimately suspended or revoked within the past thirty-six months.
- Have received convictions for five or more moving traffic violations on more than three separate occasions within the past thirty-six months.
Time periods on the above will be calculated based on the last day applications are accepted.

Cadet Highway Patrolman Salary (during 4-month academy)

Probationary Highway Patrolman Salary (during 8-month field training)
$2959.50/mo
