| State police stops around The Dalles lead to more arrests by Michael Russell, The Oregonian Friday March 20, 2009, 7:52 PM Oregon State Police troopers parlayed two traffic stops in the past two weeks on Interstate 84 into 10 arrests and counting in The Dalles area.
March 11, troopers stopped a 44-year-old driver from Dallesport, Wash., and found a quarter ounce of meth in the vehicle, said Lt. Patrick Ashmore, a state police spokesman.
Detectives, using information gathered after the arrest, arrested eight more people in The Dalles. Charges against the driver are pending.
March 18, troopers searched a vehicle driven by Daniel O. Cusick, 35, of Portland and found 1 1/2 ounces of meth and marijuana, Ashmore said.
Cusick was arrested on accusations of driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana and two traffic violations.
