The Tennessee Highway Patrol showed off its newest crime fighter at the Governor's Highway Safety Meeting in Marion County Monday.
The F-6-A Remote Tech Robot is the 2nd robot for THP's Special Operations Team.
It's bigger and has updated software.
The five cameras, including a rear drive camera, helps it do surveillance.
It can also help with pipe bombs, and suspicious packages.
Sergeant Edward Cherry says it helps preserve lives.
He says, "The thing with robots is you start remote and stay remote. We're in a trailer. This could be several hundred feet away. It's doing all the work, and then we're safe."
Special Operations officers respond to rural areas around the state to help local law enforcement in need
